- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix mashed bananas, sourdough starter, sugars, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Whisk baking soda, salt, and flour; add dry to wet, stir until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using, pour into pan, and smooth top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
Use ripe bananas for best flavor and mash well for a smooth batter.
