  • 9 cups Chex cereal (corn, rice, or wheat)
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 0.5 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup green candy melts
  • 0.25 cup white candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar

Method
 

  1. Measure out cereal in a large bowl.
  2. Melt peanut butter, butter, and chocolate chips in microwave.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour melted mixture over cereal and stir.
  5. Combine cereal and powdered sugar in a bag and shake.
  6. Melt candy melts and drizzle over puppy chow.
  7. Spread on wax paper to cool.
  8. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

For a smoother coating, ensure the cereal is completely dry before adding the chocolate mixture.
