Ingredients
  

Bananas
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix mashed bananas, applesauce, honey, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Combine dry and wet ingredients; fold in nuts if using.
  5. Pour batter into pan and bake 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Using ripe bananas enhances sweetness naturally.
