Ingredients
  

Cookie Cake
  • 2 cups unsalted butter, softened 4 sticks
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 oz)
Frosting
  • 1 container vanilla frosting (16 oz)
  • Green food coloring
  • White decorating icing

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a half sheet pan (approximately 18x13 inches).
  2. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Spread cookie dough evenly into the prepared half sheet pan.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  9. Let the cookie cake cool completely in the pan.
  10. Tint vanilla frosting green using food coloring.
  11. Frost the cooled cookie cake with the green frosting.
  12. Use white decorating icing to pipe football field lines and a football design.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
