Easy Churros

Ingredients
  

Churro Dough
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter 1 stick
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
Frying
  • Vegetable oil for frying
Coating
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Combine water, butter, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat, add flour, and stir until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Let the dough cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
  7. Pipe 4-5 inch strips into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  8. Remove churros and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  9. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  10. Toss warm churros in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use a heavy-bottomed pot for frying to maintain a consistent oil temperature.
