Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 carrots chopped
  • 2 celery stalks chopped
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Mashed Potatoes
  • 4-5 large potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste (for mashed potatoes)

Method
 

  1. Brown meat in skillet, drain grease.
  2. Transfer meat to crockpot.
  3. Add onion, carrots, and celery to crockpot.
  4. Stir in thyme, rosemary, broth, peas, corn, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  7. Boil potatoes until tender.
  8. Drain and mash potatoes with milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
  9. Spread mashed potatoes over meat mixture in crockpot.
  10. Cook on high for 30 minutes.
  11. Serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use lamb instead of beef. You can also add other vegetables like mushrooms or green beans.
