Ingredients
  

Pasta and Vegetables
  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets quartered
  • 13.9 ounces ring of kielbasa sausage cut into bite-sized slices
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 1.5 cups shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small diced yellow onion about 1/2 cup
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta according to package; add broccoli in last 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in skillet; cook kielbasa until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add onion and garlic; cook 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Whisk milk; pour into skillet, simmer until thickened, 3-5 minutes.
  5. Gradually add cheese, stir until melted; mix in pasta and broccoli. Season and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with fresh parsley.
