Ingredients
  

Batter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs eggs
  • 4 ripe bananas, mashed bananas
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dry ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
Optional
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional
Frosting
  • 1/2 cup butter for frosting
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract for frosting
  • 3 tablespoons milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a 15×10-inch pan.
  2. Mix sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs until smooth. Add mashed bananas and vanilla.
  3. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, and walnuts if using. Spread into pan and bake 20-25 minutes.
  4. Melt butter for frosting until browned. Whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Spread over cooled brownies.

Notes

Ensure not to overbake for moist brownies. Browned butter adds a rich flavor.
